Abstract

Carlos Bonfim is a professor at the Federal University of Bahia, at the Institute of Humanities, Arts and Sciences. His training, after graduation in letters, is from a Master in Culture Studies from the Simón Bolívar University in Ecuador and a Doctorate in Integration from Latin America through the University of São Paulo. He is a specialist in issues related to Culture and Latin America. His stay in Ecuador placed him close to many authors with whom he discovered indigenous intellectuals as well as other perspectives that remained foreign to him. On his return to Brazil, he began to work as a teacher, although his feeling was more of a cultural mediator when looking for spaces for critical discussion, exchange of ideas ... And there he decided that his career path would be developed through art and especially music, Which he understands as an element that shows our understanding of the world, life and ourselves. He is the director of a cultural project entitled "Latitudes Latinas" where through music, in a playful way, brings issues related to the defense of difference to strengthen knowledge of other cultures and thus work on interculturality. This project is formed by a radio program and artistic events, which are complemented by research groups where series of meetings and talks related to Latin America are held.
